Freehand Voxel Carving Scanning on a Mobile Device

چکیده
In this note we consider the problem of computing the 3D shape of an unknown, arbitrarily shaped scene from multiple color photographs taken at arbitrarily distributed viewpoints using a mobile device. The estimated camera orientation and position in 3D space obtained from publicly available SLAM libraries permits us to perform a 3D reconstruction of the observed objects. We demonstrate that it is possible to achieve a good 3D reconstruction on a mobile device. Most available applications are normally tethered to a computer and/or require expensive specialized hardware. We want to avoid this need and build a freehand 3D scanner.

متن کاملStradx: Real-time Acquisition and Visualisation of Freehand 3d Ultrasound
Conventional freehand 3D ultrasound is a multi-stage process. First, the clinician scans the area of interest. Next, the ultrasound data is used to construct a 3D voxel array, which can then be visualised by, for example, any-plane slicing. The strict separation of data acquisition and visualisation disturbs the interactive nature of the ultrasound examination. Furthermore, some systems require...
متن کاملAn accurate and effective FMM-based approach for freehand 3D ultrasound reconstruction
Freehand three-dimensional ultrasound imaging is a highly attractive research area because it is capable of volumetric visualization and analysis of tissues and organs. The reconstruction algorithm plays a key role to the construction of three-dimensional ultrasound volume data with higher image quality and faster reconstruction speed. However, a systematic approach to such problem is still mis...
متن کامل3 D ultrasound examination of large organs
Freehand 3D ultrasound is particularly appropriate for the measurement of organ volumes. For small organs, which can be fully examined with a single sweep of the ultrasound probe, the results are known to be much more accurate than those using conventional 2D ultrasound. However, large or complex shaped organs are difficult to quantify in this manner because multiple sweeps are required to cove...
